Enjoy this tasty snack while getting all the health benefits of avocados!

Avocados are packed with vitamins & nutrients, including healthy fats that are actually good for you. I’ve listed a few of them here: 

Health Benefits

  • High in healthy fats (monounsaturated fats) that are beneficial for heart health
  • Fiber keeps you fuller longer as it slows down rate of digestion, which reduces carbohydrate absorption that can help with weight loss
  • Helps balance blood sugar levels
  • Low in carbohydrates
  • Antioxidants to help combat diseases like certain cancers
  • High in Vitamin C reduce inflammation for immune support
  • Can help reduce cholesterol 
  • Great for eye health 

Ingredients:

  • 3 Large Avocados, ripe, the softer the better   
  • 1/2 Onion, red or yellow
  • 1/2 Tomato
  • 1/2 Lemon
  • 1/2 Lime
  • Fresh Cilantro
  • Salt, pepper and garlic to taste, I like to use fresh garlic

Follow these easy steps: 

  1. Mix 3 large avocados in a bowl by mushing with fork to leave a little chunky
  2. Squeeze ½ lemon and ½ lime into bowl
  3. Dice tomato and onion and mix lightly into bowl
  4. Chop cilantro and add a little to the mix, a little goes a long way 
  5. Season with salt, pepper and garlic to taste

Pair with chips and enjoy! I love using Lime chips, but you can use any that you like! 

You can add guac to other recipes as well such as a salad topping, avocado toast, or top off your favorite dish like Steak Fajita Bowls (I’ll be posting this recipe soon)

** Tip to keep your Guac from browning, add extra lemon juice and put the avocado pit (seed) back into the bowl
